Oh hello, beauty.
I just love the combination of leaf prints and indigo dye! These silk fabrics have been sewed into lavender filled sachets and relaxing eye pillows and will be available this weekend at the Fall Garden Fair at the beautiful @oregongarden
I'm not the only one who loves goldenrod. I can't use all the flowers for dye because the bees need it too! 💛🐝🌼🐝💛 Good thing there's enough to share.
New indigo dyed baskets are available in my shop! (Link in my profile)The pompoms and colorful tabs are also naturally dyed wool. I just can't resist a pop of bright color! I think I love the pointy orange one the most. Which is your favorite combo?
It's almost crabapple jelly time! We just discovered this tree on the property last winter and are excited to be able to make use of the fruit this year. What other things might be awaiting our discovery on this little patch of forest?
Beautiful Cedar Dell leaves (plus oaks from down the road) on silk. The leaves were sandwiched between these two pieces of fabric. The bottom sides of the leaves were against the top piece. The tops of the leaves were against the bottom piece, which had also been dipped in a little water with iron. It created beautiful mirror images with different color schemes. No other inks or dyes are used- just the natural pigments in the leaves. It also an exciting element of the unknown to my work. I never quite know what Nature will give me but it's always a beautiful gift!
